I went shopping with one of my friends the other day over to Merry Hill in Dudley which is about 30-40 minutes away from where I live. In the intention was so help her with a few bits and pieces and not to really be spending any money on myself.. Let’s just say that didn’t last long!! So, here’s what I bought:
Paperchase I LOVE Paperchase! We have a more local one to use, but it’s in Shrewsbuy and it’s basically outside and when it’s winter weather like it has been i hate going there. I’m one of those people who horde stationary. The notebooks I buy I have to have a very good reason to use! I ended up buying this trinket dish which has little penguins on and it goes perfectly in my spare room. This was only £5 so I just had to get it!
Lush Again – this is one of my favourite shops! I have only recently discovered Lush and I love everything about it! My local Lush had put an Instagram video on with a golden egg. It looked beautiful so I knew I had to get one! It was only £3.95 and I can’t wait to use it. No doubt there will be pictures and videos on my Instagram so keep an eye for them! I also picked up some lip scrub in Mint Julips which smells like Mint Choc Chip. This was £5.75 which seems a lot for such a little pot, but it appears to be one of those products that it bottomless!
Superdrug I’ll be honest I normally get most of my make up from Primark or Boots. I don’t normal go into my local Superdrug, but I thought while we were in Merry Hill it would be rude not to have a litte look about. I bought a Collection 2000 Pressed Powder in the shade Candlelight which was £1.99 and also a Revolution eyeshadow pallet in Redemption Iconic 3. This was a crazy £4.00!! Yes £4.00 for all these shades! Madness! I had seen a few bloggers who had picked up Revolution pallets and they all seemed to like them and I honestly thought they would be more expensive than £4.00. I have tried out a few of these eyeshadows and they apply so smoothly. Let’s just say I will be investing in more of these pallets that’s for sure!
Primark You can’t really go shopping and NOT go to Primark, or at least I can’t! I didn’t really buy a lot as I was trying not to spend anything but I did treat myself to a few bits. Starting with the boring stuff, I bought so oval make up remover pads. This is a pack of 100 for £0.90 which is a great deal as I use a few of these a day! I bought a small make up bag to match a bigger one I bought a few months ago, but I have decided to use this as a pencil case instead! This was £3.00. I managed to get my hands on a contouring kit. Now.. I haven’t a clue on how to contour so if you know of any good videos, please link them below. The reason I got this was because it was £2.00 and I thought it seemed daft not to get it even if it was just to have a go at contouring and seeing if I could do it. And lastly, I bought a t-shirt which has swallows printed all over them. I was a little unsure of the sizing as it looked small but it seems to be OK (definitely on the small end of the sizing though!) This was a bargain price of £2.50 which makes me happy as I remember it was only a few years ago that t-shirts and vest were only £1.00-£2.00.
Have you been on a shopping haul recently? What was your favourite buy?
I’m sure like most January is a crappy month for having an sort of spare cash, so I’ve treated myself to a few little treats over the last couple of weeks that I thought I’d share with you!
Primark Goodies – For those of you who know me I’m a huge cat fan (well you’d like to think so having 4 cats!) and when I saw this bag in Primark I knew I had to have it! I think this was £1.00. Over the last few months I have been trying out the Primark make up and I’m happy to say that most of it I’m more than happy with!
In the picture on the right we have a foundation and concealer brush which was £1.50, PS Pro foundation in the shade ivory was £5.00, eye brow gel in light brown was £1.00 (I’m not too sure on this, I’ve tried it once but I’m not sure if I was a little bit heavy handed!!), Matte lip crayon in the shade fuchsia which was £2.00 I think. It’s a little bright for this time of year but will be perfect in the summer! I also bought a lip stick primmer for £3.00 and I’m loving how much the colour clings to my lips when I have this on! It literally lasts all day and acts more like a stain. The felt tip eye liner was only £1.50 and the lip crayon is in amethyst which I love the shade but I have found that it bleeds a little bit, so maybe with some liner and primmer it will stay put!
Lush Goodies – I think I’ve been living under a rock for the past few years as I’ve only just discovered my love for everything Lush! I was gutted to find out that they have an amazing sale on Boxing Day so I treated myself to these goodies! I even managed to get the Snow Fairy half price!!
New Look Goodies – I have searched high and low to find a winter hat with a fluffy pom pom on that I like and I finally managed to find this one in New Look. And it was only £5.99!!
Have you treated yourself to anything from the January sales?
As some of you are aware it was my birthday last week, so I thought I’d put together a post of some of things I received. Most of my gifts was money but there were a few things to open (including a few sweet treats!)
So.. from my friends at work, I had these goodies. As you can tell I have a bit of a sweet tooth and like a drink! I was very excited when I opened the Lush Unicorn Horn!! I had seen this in store and couldn’t wait to try it!
From my besties I had all these goodies! Again, more sweet stuff, but seriously can you ever have too much? I love the light up bottle too! It says Friends are like stars. They come and go but only the true ones glow. I love this as it’s from m oldest friend and we don’t get to spend as much time together as we would like, so the quote on it really is us. I really like that they have bought me some things to hang up too, most of these will be going in the bathroom as they fit in with the colour scheme. And again, Lush stuff!! I seriously can NOT get enough of Lush at the moment! My one friend also got me a Pandora charm which has my birth stone in it. This is perfect for me, as I don’t really like the glitzy ones as they’re not really very me!
And finally from my family, I had mostly money but i few little smellies and another Pandora charm – this one is my star sign. I have mention about the Avon Luck perfume.. I was given this a couple of years ago and I instantly was like oh god this is going to smell like cat pee! but I have to admit I love it! It’s really sweet but I love it and it’s so cheap too!
Thank you to all you lovely lot who send birthday wishes and gave presents and cards, I certainly have been spoilt this birthday!!
